About this deck

Another beautifully designed Tarot from WohStudio, the Sambucus Tarot & Silhouettes Tarots publisher. This is the 5th edition of the Broken Mirror Tarot and it’s the 5th anniversary of the Tarot too, in which the publisher continues to borrow from the elegance and mystique of this time-honored art tradition while "breaking the mirror of convention" by adding a modern touch to the overall design.

The latest edition comes in three variations:

Emerald (Rider Waite Smith Style),
Sapphire (Marseille Style),
Obsidian (Rider Waite Smith Style), which is a limited edition.

While both the Emerald Edition and the Obsidian Edition adopt the Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS) system, the Sapphire Edition is based on Tarot de Marseille, a standard pattern of Italian-suited tarot pack popular in France in the 17th and 18th centuries for playing tarot card games. Unlike an RWS deck, a traditional Marseille set uses pip cards. The Minor Arcana is represented not so much with story-driven illustrations but with simplistic drawings that indicate the number of items in the suit.

The Broken Mirror Tarot deck has 78 cards with card designs inspired by the art of stained-glass windows.
